The Secrets Of Leonardo Da Vinci

Leonardo Da Vinci plays a large role in my own original fictional universe. The story of him coming across a cave in the mountains and being both terrified that a monster may be hiding within, and curiosity about actually finding out what is actual there, is a theme I use in a key scene in Reverie involving a cave that It takes refuge in while on an alien planet. Leonardo detailed his encounter with the cave, and after his two year disappearance between 1476-1478. he made some very creepy drawings of humanoid creatures with misshapen faces, and many speculate about what exactly he found in that cave, and what he saw. Could he have been seeing such creatures? There's also the theories about how he time traveled, which is how he had extensive knowledge of modern day machinery and inventions.

There's a lot of interesting theories surrounding Da Vinci's life.(I personally think he just had a phenomenal imagination) it's a lot of fun to play with these ideas in fiction.
